Sony and Evolution Studious tempt us to leap into the next-generation with this all-new DriveClub teaser trailer that showcases some amazing photorealistic visuals running on the power of the PlayStation 4.
A PlayStation 4 exclusive release, DriveClub attempts to bring the clubs and clan culture of modern first-person shooters tearing onto the racetrack in what is set to be the world’s first social racing simulator, which allows players to race against global rivals alongside a group of friends. Evolution Studios’ Matt Southern explains the concept in more detail:
You can kind of share in the glories of better players on the same team as you; get perks, level up, get XP based on that involvement. We wanted to do the same thing with a racing game and make one that wasn’t about finishing first. Finishing first is obviously awesome, but racing with friends – not in the traditional sense of just online multiplayer, but in clubs – has always been the thing we’ve really wanted to do with it.”
Considering that this is a launch game, both the concept and visuals have certainly raised the bar for what we players can expect during this next-generation of gaming. Just look at the stunning detail on those cars and beautifully rendered landscapes; that we’ll be able to speed around them with friends as we work towards building up our club’s standing makes this a far more accessible and personalised car sim than ever before.
DriveClub will (hopefully) be released later this year, we’ll be back with more news as we get it but until then follow @DriveclubGame on twitter or the visit the official Facebook fan page at http://facebook.com/DriveclubOfficial
