Global publishers 505 Games (who recently helped bring Terraria to our consoles) along with EKO Studios have announced a new upcoming zombie survival game, How To Survive, confirmed to be a downloadable title for the three major platforms: PlayStation Network, Xbox Marketplace and Steam, later this year.
How To Survive strands players on a remote set of islands off the coast of Columbia, while the nation is still in the aftermath of an unexplained accident, but you are not alone. Like in real-life you must make sure you’re fed, watered and sheltered in an effort to keep yourself alive. You can also craft dozens of different tools and weapons such as fishing rods and Molotov cocktails. How To Survive also contains a multiplayer option; allowing players to connect with both local and online survivors, teaming up in a multiplayer story, as well as challenge modes which have you fighting waves of infected.
This incarnation of the zombie apocalypse looks to be different from our regular run and gun zombie shooter, as it focuses the player’s intentions more onto survival as opposed to mindless zombie killing, but hopefully that’s in there too. 505 have also talked about some cool features in-game, for example: Players are able to take advantage of a robust crafting system, use a unique survival guide and take control of a wide-range of playable characters. Although these features sound vague, they should add together to create a different and all-round more interesting zombie game, where the end result is player survival.
How To Survive is scheduled for a release this Autumn for the big three platforms and we’ll bring you more brai…news…as we get it.
