Microprose and Zombie Games have announced a brand new game – Special Forces: Team X – for release later this year. It is a third person cover-based shooter with an emphasis on teamwork.

The game’s art style, which seems to be a nod to Borderlands’, looks great in motion as the trailer shows below. It has a unique map creation system where player choose various pieces to add to the battlefield, resulting in over 100 different combinations. The game supports up to four teams at a time with five different game types to play. The game also features a bunch of real world guns including the Kalashnikov and the Famas, thanks to a partnership with Cybergun SA.

Special Forces: Team X is set to be released later this year for Xbox 360 and PC. Watch for future updates on the game right here at Game Muse.

For now, here are some brand new screenshots of the game in action!
