Review

Where Vampires Dwell is the latest game from Hidden Object, who created previous games such as Where Faeries Dwell and Where Ghosts Dwell. Now the main question is, is this a Halloween Trick or Treat.

This is definitely a Treat, with some stunning artwork around which the game is based on and the music is beautifully haunting. However the best thing about this game is that the game-play is so addictive! It is deceptively simple, but it can keep you coming back for hours. The whole essence of the game is that you are given a list of pictures, shadows or words (depending on which style of game-play you chose) and then you touch the screen once you’ve found the object. Sounds simple right? Well it is, and it’s because of this the game is so addictive, there are no fiddly controls to learn. This is a game for all ages and will keep everyone entertained on those long train journeys to and from work or the car journeys to school.

Unfortunately this style of gameplay also becomes fairly boring after a while, which meant that I kept on putting the game down after about half hour, as I kept on getting bored. This was slightly disappointing as I really wanted to like the game. As I said, this is a good game for car journeys and train rides, but for sitting at home playing, this is definitely not a good game. However, as I mentioned it did become very addictive and I did keep on going back to it, but again, that only lasted about 20 minutes before I turned the game off again.

Overall, it’s an OK game, fairly addictive, but only get it if you’re going on a long journey, because otherwise it will stay on your phone unused.
