Over on Facebook, fans are uniting to ask the question on most people’s minds, will there be a Star Wars Battlefront III. With Disney taking over Lucas’ Empire, our guess is anything is possible. The Star Wars Battlefront III group has over 11,000 current members all chipping in with their wish list for the next instalment. While LucasArts hasn’t let anything slip on whether they intend to create another instalment for the series, it seems fans are desperate to see it made.
So far in the Battlefront series there has been 5 games: Battlefront, Battlefront 2, Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, Battlefront: Mobile Squadrons and Battlefront: Elite Squadron. The series should have got a reboot with Star Wars: Battlefront Online which was rumoured to be the next instalment in the series to be released online for 2011. Slant Six Games who worked on the games was unable to meet the release dead line and the game was cancelled
The first Battlefront sold 4.5million on its release in 2004 with Battlefront II selling 6million in 2005, can another Battlefield really suppress that figure, is there still room for it in today’s gaming market, or is it COD and Halo all the way now? It looks like LucasArts are fighting back and trying to grab the hardcore gamers by its upcoming game, Star Wars 1313.
The Star Wars Battlefront III Facebook group of fans standing up and making some noise to be heard by LucasArts are aiming to get between 7.5 to 10million Likes to show LucasArts making the game for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC would be a good idea.
